AWS Truepower and the argentinian firm Aires Renovables will develop the wind and solar atlas of the province of San Juan

San Juan provincial government has signed, on February 8, a contract for wind and solar mapping to a joint venture formed by local company Aires Renovables and Spanish firm AWS Truepower, in order to make possible the identification and quantification of local areas with wind and solar potential for the development of projects of clean electricity. Based on scientific innovation and cutting edge technologies available in the renewable energy industry worldwide, the aim is identify and quantify the wind and solar resources at the San Juan province.


Under the contract, the joint venture will have 635 days to develop a five-stage program, beginning with the installation of wind measuring equipment and concluding with the pre-design of a wind farm. San Juan provincial power utility Epse will collaborate with the project, which represents a total investment of US$1.31mn.

AWS Truepower SL is a company that collaborates with the spin-off Meteosim, Inc., founded in 2003 by a group of researchers from the Department of Astronomy and Meteorology of the University of Barcelona and the company Meso Inc.

AWS Truepower is a leader in the development of applications and services in the renewable energy sector and focuses its activity on the application of mesoscale models for the estimation and evaluation of energy resources and the generation of information services.
