CataloniaBio signs an agreement with the City Council of Sant Boi de Llobregat to promote research in biomedicine and biotechnology

The CataloniaBio association, based at the Barcelona Science Park, and the City Council of Sant Boi de Llobregat have established a collaboration agreement in order to jointly promote research in biomedicine and biotechnology as well as its clinical application in the field of mental health. The president of CataloniaBio, Antonio Parente, and the Sant Boi mayor, Jaume Bosch, participated in the signing ceremony of this agreement.

This agreement is part of the plan to create a mental health ‘cluster’ in Sant Boi, in which different institutions, universities, health care and research centers will participate.

The participation of CataloniaBio entails the involvement of the production sector and achieving a “qualitative jump”, according to both organizations, which will facilitate the transfer of results obtained from the research promoted in this field to companies. The aim is to develop new clinical treatments, new drugs and new diagnostic systems applied to these types of disorders.
