IRB Barcelona strengthens ties with RIMLS in the Netherlands

This month, IRB Barcelona and the Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences (RIMLS), Nijmegen, the Netherlands, have signed collaboration agreements on research and training. The agreements pave the way to strengthen current exchanges between the two centres and to explore new collaboration opportunities.

The signature took place in the Netherlands between Joan J. Guinovart, director of IRB Barcelona, and Paul Smits, vice-president of RIMLS and member of its research committee.

Research of excellence is a hallmark of the two centres. These agreements reinforce IRB Barcelona’s international ties and its commitment to participating in joint research endeavours.

As of the next academic year undergraduates and master students at IRB Barcelona will be able to participate in the Masters Programme “Molecular Mechanisms of Diseases”, given by RIMLS. PhD student placements will also be organised to allow the students to become familiar with the facilities and technology available in the other centre.
