“Charity Set Meal” for multiple sclerosis at the Barcelona Science Park

Starting on the second Thursday of October 2018, restaurant Fifteen and the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) Cafeteria will be serving their “Charity Set Meal for Multiple Sclerosis” to raise funds for research into this neurological disease which affects 8,500 people in Catalonia and 48,000 in Spain.

For one year Universitas will give the GAEM Foundation 5% of the takings on the second Thursday of each month for the set meals it serves to help find a cure for multiple sclerosis. The funds raised over these twelve Thursdays will be allocated in their entirety to accelerating the multiple sclerosis research projects sponsored by the GAEM Accelerator programme.

At present the GAEM Accelerator is sponsoring four biomedical research projects, two of which are treatments in the clinical development phase and one in the preclinical phase. The fourth is based on using new image processing technology to improve early diagnosis and accelerate the discovery of new therapies.

Universitas is a family-owned company with extensive experience in catering and a firm commitment to society. The restaurants it runs are mainly in Barcelona’s universities and business parks and offer versatile, accessible and agreeable venues in which to enjoy quality food in a relaxed setting.
