COVID measures: Capacity limits for spaces and rooms and changes to event organisation

A new ruling was published on Friday 15 with measures to alleviate the situation in order to move towards normality. The same rules remain in force for the working environment:

  • Space ventilation (recommended 12.5 l/s per person).
  • Keep a safe distance between people (1.5 m).
  • Cleaning and disinfection measures.
  • Have soap and water or hand-sanitizing gel available.
  • Mandatory use of face masks in public service workplaces, when safety distances cannot be maintained and when moving around.

Tupper rooms, meeting rooms and self-service scientific areas are considered workplaces and must therefore keep complying with the measures described above.

Capacity for meeting rooms and function halls

With the measures published on Friday, the spaces have been revised, increasing the capacity in general to 100%. Some spaces still have a smaller capacity in order to ensure the required ventilation.

See the capacity table.

Protocol changes for organising events

There have been some changes with regard to the organisation of events, congresses and seminars: no longer is there an obligation to make a declaration of responsibility and to keep a register of attendees. You can view the updated protocol here.

The changes also affect the catering services: they can be held both indoors and outdoors, but we must remember that groups not living together must keep a safe distance and wear a mask when they are not eating or drinking. Nevertheless, we recommend having snacks and breaks preferably in outdoor areas. At Reception you can enquire about the possible spaces to be used and the applicable requirements.

The Government of Catalonia reviews these measures weekly. The capacity and measures inside the PCB will be adapted in line with the evolution of the pandemic.
