A delegation of Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya visits the Barcelona Science Park

A delegation of Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC), led by its president, Joan Puigcercós, and Jordi Portabella, president of the ERC municipal group at the Barcelona City Council, has visited today the Barcelona Science Park in order to gain deeper insight into the project and task that is being carried out by this center to promote research and innovation, mainly in the life sciences sector.

The delegation, which also included Maria Àngels Cabasés, secretary of ERC’s Economic Policy, and Oriol Amoròs, ERC’s regional president of Barcelona, was greeted by the general director of the Barcelona Science Park, Fernando Albericio.

The director of the PCB has explained the PCB’s primary objectives to the representatives of ERC, as well as the expansion project that it is currently involved in, which will be finalized in 2011 and through which a 96,000 m2 surface increase is forecasted. This expansion will enable the PCB to increase the space for laboratories and the number of research groups, companies and technology platforms for research support, as well as to accommodate nearly 45,000 professionals dedicated to R+D+i.
