Barcelona Science Park, Biocat and Shanghai Juke Biotech Park have signed an agreement

Barcelona Science Park, Biocat and Shanghai Juke Biotech Park have signed an agreement

The General Director of the Barcelona Science Park (PCB), Salvador Maluquer, and Biocat CEO, Montserrat Vendrell, met with a delegation of top executives from the Shanghai Juke Biotech Park, led by Deputy General Manager Sun Jianming, on 11th October. At the end of the visit, all three parties signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding' in order to facilitate the exchange and establishment of companies in the two cities and promote joint activities in the coming years.


Shanghai Juke Biotech Park, a public park/incubator located in the Xuhui district that specializes in the biomedical sector, is opening up a network of agreements with clusters and parks in other countries in order to foster joint relationships and encourage the establishment of companies in each of the cities involved.

Sun Jianming explained the professional and technological services they offer to the representatives from Biocat and PCB. He was accompanied by representatives from some of the companies located in the Chinese park that are interested in the potential and excellence in biotechnology and biomedicine research in the Barcelona area, such as Biosundrugs, Shanghai B&C Chemical, Shanghai PureduBio-Tech, Shanghai Zhongyu Entreprise Development, Shanghai Laibo Bio-Chemical, Sizuka Gosen Beauty and Sinch Pharmaceuticals Tech.

Biocat Director of Communications and External Relations, Adela Farré, had the chance to explain the work Biocat is doing to promote and internationalize the sector in Catalonia to the visitors. Scientific Director of the PCB, Jesús Purroy, presented the park –located next to the University of Barcelona campus– and its services.The Chinese delegates also visited some companies located in the park: Aromics, Intelligent Pharma and Infinitec Activos.
