Consume food in the designated eating areas to avoid pests

We want to remind you of the importance of respecting the rules of the PCB in regard to the consumption of food. It is essential that we all contribute to maintaining a safe, clean environment, so it is absolutely forbidden to eat outside the authorised areas.

Eating in non-designated areas can contribute to the proliferation of insects, particularly as we head into summer and higher temperatures, which is when bugs such as cockroaches, mosquitoes and ants can proliferate. Insects in our facilities are a serious problem for several reasons:

– Hygiene and health: insects and rodents can carry diseases and contaminate both food and workspaces, putting everyone’s health at risk.

– Damage to facilities: the presence of pests can cause structural damage to our facilities, affecting both laboratories and common areas, and generating additional costs in repairs and maintenance.

– Research interruptions: the appearance of pests can interrupt research and development activities, compromising the quality and results of ongoing projects.

– Working environment: keeping work areas clean and tidy is essential in ensuring a professional and comfortable environment for everyone. Eating outside the designated areas contributes to disorder and a lack of cleanliness and hygiene.

For all these reasons, we must underscore the fact that it is compulsory to eat in the designated areas, which you will find on this map. The PCB has recently worked to offer you more common areas in which to eat. We appreciate your cooperation and support in this matter.
