Laboratories’ environmental footprint

Universities and research centres are becoming aware of their scientific activity’s carbon footprint and the need to control it, sparking debate. After all, research is associated with high consumption of energy and water, production of non-recyclable waste and the transport of materials and people.

People have donned their thinking caps to ponder how best to control research’s impact and explore new opportunities. Many European research centres are starting to move in the same direction: there are initiatives in many European countries from science networks and associations to exchange knowledge and experiences to make research greener.

The IBEC, in collaboration with the PCB, invites you to attend, in person or online, the international symposium on the environmental impacts of laboratories and the exchange of positive experiences to reduce the consumption of resources and energy, to be held at the end of June.

Date: Friday 28 June
Time: 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
