PCB joins Education Coordinating Committee of IMEB

The Barcelona Science Park (PCB) has just signed an agreement with the Barcelona Municipal Institute of Education (IMEB) that will enable it to become more actively involved in education through its presence on the Education Coordinating Committee, "Barcelona at School". The cooperation agreement will also see the PCB receive support from the IMEB for publishing and communicating scientific activities, something which is currently managed via the "Research in Society" programme.

The Education Coordinating Committee (CCP) is a platform which brings together public institutions and bodies that offer educational activities for schoolchildren. It was set up in 1991 with the aim of coordinating and targeting the interaction between schools and society, as well as increasing the learning opportunities open to children during their schooling.

Since it was set up, the number of Committee members has risen constantly and it now serves as a forum for 115 public institutions and bodies. Also present at the official signing of the agreement with the IMEB were the Agbar Foundation, the National Library of Catalonia, the Institute of Catalan Studies and the Ateneu Club of Barcelona, all of whom have followed the example of the PCB and become members of the CCP.
