Seminar about the development of a biotech company cluster in Catalonia

On Monday 2 October the Fèlix Serratosa Hall will host a seminar entitled . This seminar seeks to present a general definition of the characteristics of a successful cluster in order to promote a biocluster in Catalonia. The presentation will also provide examples of institutional initiatives taken to support biotech enterprises and the practical needs of growing biotech companies.

Organized by the , with the support of the Parc Científic de Barcelona (Barcelona Science Park, PCB), the seminar is directed at scientists, research managers and managers in general in public and private sectors interested in leading projects and companies operating in the fields of biotechnology.

The programme includes presentations and work sessions which will involve the assistant director of the PCB, Montserrat Vendrell; the director of Advancell, Luis Ruiz; the secretary of ASEBIO, Jorge Barreno; the research director in Econometry at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, Gerhard Fuchs, and the head of the SME Office at the European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products, Melanie Carr.
