The RESSÒ program of the Barcelona Science Park promotes scientific talent at the Exporecerca Jove 2025

From 5 to 8 March 2025, La Salle – Campus Barcelona hosted the 26th edition of Exporecerca Jove, the most important international pre-university research fair in Southern Europe. This event, organised by the MAGMA association, was attended by 162 students aged between 12 and 19 from Catalonia and the rest of Spain. Students from Andorra, South Africa, France, Brazil, China and Peru also participated.

Once again, the RESSÒ program of the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) has reinforced its commitment to promoting young research by awarding several prizes to outstanding projects. These awards recognize the quality and potential of some of the research presented in category C (bachelor’s degree) and seek to introduce young talents to the world of professional scientific research. This year, the prize consists of an exclusive guided tour of the PCB facilities, where the awardees will be able to see first-hand the laboratories and scientific services where cutting-edge research is carried out.

The RESSÒ Program jury awarded the prizes in category C:

First prize: Ewing’s sarcoma and gene regulation: From the laboratory to the computer, by Nicholas Alexander Vaz Reavy.

Second prize: Advancing Alzheimer’s diagnosis with AH_Ad: a classification model based on MRI images, by Marc Jordán de la Cruz.

Third prize: New frontiers in therapy: liposomes as a tool for more precise and safe medicine, by Bruna Clarà Fernández.

Second prizes:

IS OUR FUTURE… MAGNETIC?, by Marina Serra Cabra.

THE RESOLUTION OF EQUATIONS THROUGH THE AGES: A MATHEMATICAL JOURNEY, by Kira García Aguilera.

Exporecerca Jove is a stand fair open to the public, where students between the ages of 12 and 19 present the results of their research in spaces designed by themselves. Through posters, graphics, multimedia, models and scientific instruments, participants explain their research projects to the public. The exhibition is promoted and organised by MAGMA, the Association for the Promotion of Young Research, a Catalan non-profit youth organization with state headquarters in Barcelona. MAGMA is part of MILSET, an international federation dedicated to promoting research among young people. It is also the only Spanish association affiliated and authorized to present projects at the prestigious REGENERON ISEF fair, which is held annually in the United States.

For the RESSÒ program, participating in the Exporecerca Jove is a unique opportunity to inspire scientific vocations and bring young people closer to the reality of research. With more than 25 years of history, this fair has established itself as an essential platform for future scientists, promoting more than 700 awards and fostering innovation and critical thinking among young talents.

The RESSÒ program, an initiative of the Barcelona Science Park launched in 2003, aims to bring science closer to the public and encourage scientific vocations among young people. Each year, the program offers more than 100 activities in which nearly 7,000 people participate. Supported by the Barcelona City Council, the RESSÒ Program was recognized in 2016 with the Educational Quality Seal from the Pedagogical Innovation Council, promoted by the Municipal Institute of Education of Barcelona (IMEB).
