APTE and ENISA sign an agreement to strengthen corporate business in science and technology parks

The Spanish Association of Science and Technology Parks (APTE, from its acronym in Catalan) and National Innovation, Inc (ENISA) signed a framework agreement of cooperation yesterday in Madrid, the aim of which is to facilitate the conditions and improve the financing terms of SMEs in Spain. The signing of the agreement, which took place as part of the conference "Financing SMEs through ENISA´s participation loan" addressed at technicians of APTE member parks, was attended by ENISA´s CEO, Begoña Cristeto Blasco, and the Chairman of APTE, Felipe Romera.


By virtue of this agreement, both organizations will collaborate in the design of information for businesses engaged in the use of new financial instruments and identification of financial needs for SMEs; development of common activities to promote participation loans among small and medium-sized enterprises, and provision of advice on issues regarding business financing, among other activities.

Also, with the aim to facilitate and encourage the capture of business projects and expand the number of quality requests, APTE will act as an input channel of projects carrying out a preliminary analysis of such projects before their submission to ENISA. In addition, the two institutions will collaborate on social entrepreneurship projects.

The Spanish Association of Science and Technology Parks was created in 1988 as a non-profit organization with the aim of working through the promotion and dissemination of science and technology parks, the renewal and diversification of productive activity, technological progress and economic development.

Currently the Association comprises 77 members spread throughout the whole of Spain. 47 of these parks are partner parks that are fully operational; 29 are affiliated parks that are under development, and 1 collaborator member. In 2011, these parks housed a total of 6,030 organizations with a turnover of 23,254 million Euros and currently provide employment to over 154,000 people, 28,384 of whom are involved in R & D tasks.

ENISA is a public company, under the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, through the Directorate General of Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises that has been promoting the creation, growth and consolidation Spanish enterprises since 1982, by actively participating in the financing of innovative and viable business projects in the venture capital dynamic market.
