Dídac Ramírez, new Rector of the University of Barcelona

Dídac Ramírez will be the new Rector of the University of Barcelona after winning 53.45% of the weighted vote share in the second round of elections held on 11 November. The other candidate, Josep Samitier, obtained 46.55%. Once he has been officially sworn in, as rector of the UB, Dídac Ramírez will also take up the presidency of the Barcelona Science Park Foundation.

A total of 65,055 people were eligible to vote in this election. The final figures showed that 7,026 (10.8% of the total) voted, down on the number (11.6%) who voted on 6 November. Of these 7,026 votes, 5,991 were for the candidates, 491 were blank and 544 null.
