IBEC researcher Alicia Casals to appear in the exhibition titled “16 Catalan Women Scientists”

On February 23 the inauguration of the exhibition titled "16 Catalan Women Scientists" will be held at the Les Corts Cultural Centre. The main objective of this project, organized by the Catalan Association of Scientific Communication (ACCC), is to bring the female scientist figure closer to society, dismantling old-rooted beliefs such as the fact that nearly all professionals who conduct research are men.

The exhibition, which is based on the profile of 16 women scientists who work in universities, research centers and companies, has been organized with the financial support of the Department of Innovation, Universities and Enterprise of the Generalitat de Catalonia. Alicia Casals, bioengineer and researcher at the Bioengineering Institute of Catalonia (IBEC) –located at the Barcelona Science Park- is one of the scientists to appear in the exhibition.
