Implementation of two-factor authentication to access PCB telematic services

The increase in the number of serious security incidents in recent years is demonstrating that the use of a password to access resources is not enough. For this reason, we are implementing a second authentication factor to be able to access PCB services.

By using a second factor, an additional layer of security is added when it comes to verifying our identity when we access certain applications and services. Despite being a robust method, the password, the first identification factor, can be stolen in a phishing or malware attack. With two-factor validation we have a second factor associated with our mobile device which can really reinforce security by preventing access by an unwanted third party.

Nowadays, with the exponential increase in cybercrime, this is necessary security measure that is imperative in helping us protect our data. Its implementation will be made progressively starting with the PCB VPN service. This transition is being carried out in conjunction with an identity management platform which will facilitate integration with the existing directory services and other validation systems in the PCB and will guarantee a fluid transition.

We will inform you of the specific steps you will have to follow to set up your second factor and how to use it to access the VPN service in the next few weeks.
