Schools can now register for the Live Research Fair

Today, Wednesday 6 September, the Barcelona Science Park has opened the registration period for schools across Catalonia to take part in the Live Research Fair. The event, which is to be held at CosmoCaixa Barcelona on 11-14 April 2018, is part of the PCB’s Research in Society science popularisation programme which includes over 100 activities in which around 5,000 people participate every year. Last time round over 1,600 visitors had the chance to carry out scientific experiments with the help of 80 researchers.

The Live Research Fair is organised jointly by the Barcelona Science Park’s Scientific Culture Unit and “la Caixa” Foundation with the support of Barcelona City Council and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (Fundació Espanyola per a la Ciència i la Tecnologia, FECYT). The objective is to display the research projects currently being carried out in Catalonia in various fields of research in order to bring science closer to the public at large, and to encourage scientific vocations among young people.

This year, 12 groups are to be selected which will move part of their laboratories to this flagship venue to interact with the attendees and give them the chance to carry out experiments and resolve conundrums using the scientific method.

►Schools should register in the School Activities Programme (Programa d’Activitats Escolars, PAE) section of Barcelona City Council’s Municipal Institute of Education website.
