More than 40 companies and researchers in nanomedicine and oncology open doors to possible collaborations

More than 40 companies and basic and clinical research groups from around Spain will explain their projects, experience and technology at the 'Industry-Academia-Clinic Forum New trends in nanomedicine for oncology diagnostics and therapy', on 25 October 2012 in the Barcelona Science Park. The aim of this event –offered by Biocat and the Biomedical Research Networking Center in Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine (CIBER-BBN), under the framework of the Oncocat network and the BioNanoMed Catalunya alliance– is to foster direct contact among researchers, clinical professionals and business executives and facilitate the identification of common interests and possible collaborations. Professionals from the sector interested in attending and/or participating in partnering meetings can register free of charge through 14 October.

The event will be divided into two parts. In the morning, various companies and basic and clinical research groups will present their experience, technology, interests, offers of and need for collaboration, etc. in a 5-minute presentation. In the afternoon, they will be able to hold partnering sessions with any of the participants interested and with whom, probably, they have identified affinities or common interests.

The inaugural addresses will be given by Scientific Director of the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) Dr. Jesús Purroy and Carlos Lurigados, Project Director of Biocat. Afterwards, CIBER-BBN Director of Technology Transfer Dr. Fernando Santos will discuss various issues to take into account in order to make the most of participating in this event.
