Eleven research groups from several centers in Catalonia have moved to CosmoCaixa Barcelona.

The science of the future within everyone’s reach!

On the upcoming days 6, 7, 8 i 9 of April, and as part of the 13th edition of the Live Research Fair, researchers from different research centres in Catalonia will be moving part of their laboratory setting to CosmoCaixa Barcelona to invite citizens to participate in their projects and solve enigmes following scientific methodology. 

 

The fair, organized by the Obra Social ”la Caixa” and the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) –under the Research In Society program–, aims to bring science to society and promote scientific vocations among young people. This year, it is taking place with the support of and the Barcelona City Council and the collaboration of the University of Barcelona.

Eleven research groups from several centers in Catalonia will move to this emblematic site in order that visitors can participate in experiments related to their current projects using the same tools and materials commonly used. To encourage interaction with the public, every booth will have an enigma that attendees will have to resolve by following the scientific methodology.

The opening ceremony of the fair will take place on 7th April at 11.00 am, and will be attended by Dr. Dídac Ramírez, Rector of the University of Barcelona; Dr. Josep Antoni Plana, General Director of PCB; Jordi Portabella, Director of the Area of Science, Research and Environment at ”la Caixa” Banking Foundation; Lluis Noguera, Director of CosmoCaixa, and Javier Hidalgo, Head of Science Exhibitions at ”la Caixa” Banking Foundation.
